"We have an ongoing requirement for high calibre legal secretaries to join our practice. We are always interested in hearing from individuals who feel they have something to offer us and who wish to be part of Burges Salmon's exciting future." Julie Smith, HR Development Manager.
In addition to its lawyers, Burges Salmon employs teams of secretaries in each of its practice areas.
We recruit secretaries from a wide range of sources. Most of the secretaries we recruit have previous legal experience which enables them to work in one of our legal departments, under the direction of a departmental co-ordinator. Increasingly, however, we also recruit less experienced secretaries. Such individuals are likely to be completing/or have recently completed their formal training to become legal secretaries. Junior secretaries are not assigned specific lawyers to work for, but sit with a departmental secretarial co-ordinator where they receive on-going training and experience. After a period of time 'in training' they are able to work as a junior legal secretary, providing a full secretarial service to lawyers.
We also recruit secretaries to support our twilight team. The firm provides secretarial support from 5.15pm to midnight each weekday evening and is always interested in hearing from high calibre individuals capable of fulfilling this demanding and challenging role.
